Gua sha

Gua sha is a traditional Chinese medicine technique that uses a tool such as jade or buffalo bone to scrape the skin to induce light petechiae. Most practitioners believe that when used over sore, stiff, or restricted muscles this can increase oxygen rich blood to help aid healing. At Worthington wellness we also use Gua sha to reduce fascial adhesions in large muscle groups. Some of our favorite conditions for this tool are plantar fasciitis, carpal tunnel, impingement syndromes and muscle stiffness.
